Underne

Underne House is named after Edward Underne, the Rector of Chipping Barnet Church at the time of Elizabeth I. Once the Queen had granted the Charter to establish the School, funds were needed to finance it. Edward Underne was responsible for raising the money for the original building of the School in the 1570s.
