Student Associates Scheme

The Scheme is sponsored by the Training & Development Agency (TDA) and provides the opportunity for undergraduates or postgraduates to work alongside experienced teachers and assist in classroom teaching, acting as a positive role model for pupils.

Queen Elizabeth’s offers 15-day placements in June/July each year, undertaken as a consecutive block of time or part-time over a number of weeks; this will be agreed with the student prior to the placement commencing.

Whilst in school, students will follow a structured programme of observations, activities and classroom experiences. Students are expected to contribute their subject expertise as well as participating in the wider aspects of school life.

The application process

If you are being referred to us by your current university or college, please ensure that they include a copy of your current Curriculum Vitae. If you are applying directly to us, please email your CV together with a covering letter to Angela Leonard, HR Officer by clicking here.

Support

There are a number of core goals defined by the TDA that students are required to meet and the programme of activities will be based around these. We will assign a subject mentor within the appropriate department who will oversee the experience and provide support and guidance for the student.
