Founder's Day is held annually on the third Saturday in June. Pupils attend a special service at St John the Baptist Church in Wood Street, which commemorates both the founding of the School and the fact that for several centuries, QE boys had to attend church on Sundays 'in an orderly manner' or face a punishment of six lashes. After the service, a roll call is held in front of the School. The Founder's Day Fete takes place on the same day on Stapylton Field. The fete is organised by the Friends of Queen Elizabeth's.
