Martin Swimming Pool
QE's eight-lane Martin Swimming Pool opened in 2006. The project was commissioned by the Headmaster and supported by the fund-raising of the Friends of Queen Elizabeth's. A 25-metre indoor pool that is two metres deep, it has a moveable floor along a third of its length. There is also a lift to reach an upper viewing gallery. The pool is used regularly for swimming and water polo as part of the PE timetable. It is also the venue for national events in swimming and water polo - a sport in which QE boys have represented Great Britain at U16 level.
