2013 November The School is now the recipient of seven Prince’s Teaching Institute Marks: for English, Geography, History, Modern Foreign Languages, Science, Mathematics and Music. The awards are given retrospectively for each academic year, and each department has to earn the Mark for its subject ab initio every year. The Science department was the first to earn the Mark in 2009 - 2010. The following year, the Mark was also awarded to English, Geography and History. Modern Foreign Languages gained it for its work in 2011-12, with Mathematics and Music added for 2013 -14. The aim of the Mark is to recognise and reward school departments that develop inspirational ideas and activities which enhance teaching and learning; only a handful of schools have ever gained seven Marks.
