Posted: 14th June 2019

We are inviting applications for salaried and unsalaried places on the School Direct Teacher Training Programme to start in September 2020. Well-qualified and enthusiastic graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply although we are particularly keen to hear from those looking to train in the following subjects: Economics, English, Geography, History, Languages (any combination of French, German and Latin), Mathematics and Science (many of these are the high priority and other priority recruitment subjects).

To be eligible to apply, candidates should have a relevant degree which has been awarded at 2:1 or above. To apply for the salaried programme, they should also have at least three years’ professional (work) experience. All candidates should be prepared to undertake some observation in schools before starting the programme.

Generous bursaries are available in shortage subjects for those on the unsalaried programme.

We are working as a consortium with several other local schools and the University of Hertfordshire to offer this training. Watford Girls’ Grammar School is the named school on the Teaching Agency’s website. As well as applying to Queen Elizabeth’s using the application form below, applicants should also register their interest with the Department for Education.

Applications should be made using our online form
