Queen Elizabeth’s is a highly selective, state-maintained school.
Students are admitted on academic merit alone. They come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and many are resident in areas of social disadvantage. 95% of pupils belong to an ethnic minority group.
Those in Year 12 select four demanding courses and take AS examinations, where possible; beyond this, most students continue with three courses, although a proportion continue with all four to A level. In 2023, the average A level grade was A*; 97% of grades were awarded A*, A or B.
All students follow an additional enrichment course: the Extended Project Qualification; the LIBF Diploma; the Community Sports Leader Award; our own bespoke University Support Programme; or, AS Further Mathematics. There is also a requirement for them to be involved in representative sport, music, and voluntary service in the community.
UCAS predicted grades have been calculated from AS outcomes and attainment in moderated internal assessments.
