Mrs Jyoti Dhanak: Biography

Elected a parent governor in 2025, Jyoti Dhanak brings to the role more than 20 years of global experience in architecture, design management, and public-sector projects, as well as a record of supporting young people through voluntary work.
Mrs Dhanak, whose son joined Year 7 in 2021, is an Associate Director at Pick Everard, a multidisciplinary infrastructure consultancy. She has worked with clients in sectors including education and justice, leading teams and working with stakeholders to shape safe, inclusive, and inspiring environments.
Outside of work, she mentors youngsters through STEM and careers programmes, volunteering with charities such as Governors for Schools and INTBAU, a global network promoting traditional building, architecture, and urbanism.
She is also an advocate for mental health, inclusivity, and the holistic growth of children.
In her election pitch, she wrote: “I’m passionate about supporting our School community and helping all children thrive. I believe I bring a valuable perspective that combines professional expertise, lived experience, and a genuine commitment to education, wellbeing, and equal opportunities.”
