Queen Elizabeth’s is wonderfully situated on a 23 acre site on the edge of the Green Belt in High Barnet and within easy reach of central London.

The School is located on Queens Road, off Wood Street (A411), and is well served by public transport links. The School has no catchment area and so boys routinely travel to us both from within the local community and from a very wide geographic area.

Below you will find details of some of the more popular routes, as well as information on the school coach services currently provided by Hearns and Empire Coaches.

By tube/train:

High Barnet (Northern Line) is the nearest tube station, located about a 15 minute walk from the School. Bus services run frequently throughout the day, with routes 307, 107, and 263 stopping or terminating at Barnet Hospital (opposite Queens Road).

New Barnet is the best connected overground station in the area, again with frequent buses to and from stops on Wood Street (307, 107, 184).

By bus:

The School is very well served by bus links. Some of the most popular for our boys are:

606 (from Queensbury Station via Burnt Oak, Edgware, Apex Corner and Stirling Corner)

614 (same as 606, but going to Hatfield in the other direction)

107 (from Edgware Station in the west to New Barnet Station in the east)

263 (from Highbury Barn via Highbury & Islington Station, Holloway Road, Archway Station, Highgate, East Finchley, Whetstone and High Barnet)

307 (from Brimsdown Station via Enfield Town, Oakwood, East Barnet and High Barnet)

School Coaches:

There are currently ten routes, operated by our providers Hearns and Empire, to which parents can subscribe. These are local companies well regarded for performance and reliability. These coaches rely upon there being sufficient demand on an ongoing basis and routes may be subject to revision over time. Coach fees are paid termly and in advance.

Boys will only be permitted to embark/disembark at a particular pick-up/drop-off point on their chosen route.

By car:

The School is located approximately 2.5 miles from the Stirling Corner roundabout on the A1 and 3.5 miles from Junction 23 of the M25. The School sits in a residential area and is covered by a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). Parking is therefore very limited and we encourage boys and visitors to arrive on foot or by public transport wherever possible. The Spires car park, about a 15 minute walk away, is often a good option for those driving. We would remind parents and visitors to the School to take heed of our ‘dos and don’ts’ for drivers.
