Dr Michael Taylor: Biography

Michael Taylor EdD, MA, MSc came to QE when he was appointed Assistant Head (Lower School & Enrichment) in September 2014.

He attended The Manchester Grammar School before going on to read Modern Languages (German and Italian) at Oriel College, Oxford. He took his Postgraduate Certificate of Education teaching qualification in Modern Languages from the University of London’s Institute of Education.

In addition, he holds an MSc in Internet Technologies from the University of Luton and a doctorate in Education from Sheffield, for which his thesis was entitled Developing Little Linguists?: Pupils’ Perceptions of Modern Languages in the Primary School. He gained his National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NCSL) in 2014.

Dr Taylor’s first teaching post was at The John Warner School, Hertfordshire, where he was Deputy Head of Sixth Form & Head of German. This was followed by a period at Watford Grammar School for Boys, where he was Head of Modern Languages & Specialist Language College Co-ordinator.

He has authored several Modern Languages resources for Oxford University Press.
