Engineering Success

Two QE boys have been awarded the prestigious Arkwright scholarship for their outstanding work in Design and Technology.

In a ceremony at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Priyesh Patel and Sam Catchpole-Smith were presented with their awards by Sir Peter Williams, Honorary Treasurer and Vice President of The Royal Society.

QE’s Head of Design, Simon Vincent, said: “We are extremely proud of their achievement.”

Scholars are selected following a rigorous selection process comprising an application, aptitude paper and interview. During the interview, students present their GCSE project work to a panel of interviewers and discuss their commitment to design, engineering and technology.

Priyesh’s scholarship is sponsored by The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board and Sam’s by The Mercers’ Company.
