Founded in 1573, Queen Elizabeth's is a leading Selective School for Boys aged 11 to 18 with 1235 on roll and a Sixth Form of 310. Five consecutive "outstandingly successful" OFSTED reports indicate the firm foundations of Queen Elizabeth's exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievements. The School acquired Academy status in September 2010.

The nearest tube station is High Barnet (Northern Line) and the twenty-three acre site on the edge of the Green Belt is an attractive setting for learning.

TEACHER OF PHYSICS required for September 2018

We wish to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated and inspirational graduate to teach Physics throughout the School.

The Physics department enjoys a national reputation for excellence and achieves exceptional outcomes in public examinations. Large numbers of the School’s students progress from A-level to Physics and related courses, such as Engineering, at leading universities. The successful applicant will have a strong academic background and will demonstrate that he or she has an understanding of how to inspire very able boys within and beyond the classroom.

TEACHER OF TECHNOLOGY required for September 2018

We wish to appoint an outstanding teacher able to contribute to the teaching of Technology at all levels and to the department’s extensive extra-curricular programme.

The School offers a STEM focused curriculum at KS3 covering Resistant Materials, Control, Electronics, Graphics and Food.  Each KS3 project incorporates a challenging computing/ICT component.   Product Design is delivered at GCSE and A Level.

TRAINEE TEACHERS FOR THE SCHOOL DIRECT (SALARIED & UNSALARIED) PROGRAMMES

We are inviting applications for salaried and unsalaried places on the School Direct Teacher Training Programme to start in September 2018. Well-qualified and enthusiastic graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply although we are particularly keen to hear from those looking to train in the following subjects: Economics, English, Geography, History, Languages (any combination of French, German and Latin), Mathematics, Science and PE (many of these are the high priority and other priority recruitment subjects). 

To be eligible to apply, candidates should have a relevant degree which has been awarded at 2:1 or above. To apply for the salaried programme, they should also have at least three years' professional (work) experience.

We are working as a consortium with several other local schools and the University of Hertfordshire to offer this training. Watford Girls' Grammar School is the named school on the Teaching Agency's website.
