Founded in 1573, Queen Elizabeth's is a leading Selective School for Boys aged 11 to 18 with 1180 on roll and a Sixth Form of 290. Five consecutive "outstandingly successful" OFSTED reports indicate the firm foundations of Queen Elizabeth's exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievements. The School acquired Academy status in September 2010.

The nearest tube station is High Barnet (Northern Line) and the twenty-three acre site on the edge of the Green Belt is an attractive setting for learning.

Teaching Staff Vacancies

TEACHER OF ENGLISH
Required for September 2017

We wish to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated and inspirational graduate to teach English throughout the School. The department is thriving, well-resourced, located in a brand new suite of accommodation and has a reputation for outstanding results at all levels.

Applications are very welcome from newly qualified teachers and from those with previous experience looking to teach able boys as a member of a supportive team. The ability to offer a second subject, such as Latin to Key Stage 3, might be an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

TEACHER OF ART

We wish to appoint an outstanding art teacher to join a well-resourced department that is supportive, well-resourced and committed to a serious and demanding academic approach to art.  The successful applicant will be able to teach at all levels within the School and willing to make a significant contribution to the extensive programme of extra-curricular activity on offer.

It is anticipated that our new colleague will also be a practising artist committed to keeping up his or her own studio work; candidates will be invited to bring examples of their own work to interview, in addition to examples of recent work by pupils, and should be prepared to talk about their own practice.

TRAINEE TEACHERS FOR THE SCHOOL DIRECT (SALARIED & UNSALARIED) PROGRAMMES

We are inviting applications for salaried and unsalaried places on the School Direct Teacher Training Programme to start in September 2017. Well-qualified and enthusiastic graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply although we are particularly keen to hear from those looking to train in the following subjects: English, Geography, History, Languages (any combination of French, German and Latin), Mathematics, Science and PE (these are the high priority and other priority recruitment subjects). 

To be eligible to apply, candidates should have a relevant degree which has been awarded at 2:1 or above. To apply for the salaried programme, they should also have at least three years' professional (work) experience.

We are working as a consortium with several other local schools and the University of Hertfordshire to offer this training. Watford Girls' Grammar School is the named school on the Teaching Agency's website.
