Founded in 1573, Queen Elizabeth's is a leading Selective School for Boys aged 11 to 18 with 1180 on roll and a Sixth Form of 290. TRAINEE TEACHERS FOR THE SCHOOL DIRECT (SALARIED AND UNSALARIED) PROGRAMMES
We are inviting applications for salaried and unsalaried places on the School Direct Teacher Training Programme to start in September 2014. Well-qualified and enthusiastic graduates from all disciplines are welcome to apply although we are particularly keen to hear from those looking to train in the following subjects: English, Geography, History, Languages (any combination of French, German and Latin), Mathematics, Science and PE (these are the high priority and other priority recruitment subjects).
To be eligible to apply, candidates should have a relevant degree which has been awarded at 2:1 or above. To apply for the salaried programme, they should also have at least three years' professional (work) experience.
We are working as a consortium with several other local schools and the University of Hertfordshire to offer this training. We are looking to recruit a Chemistry Technician to join our highly successful and supportive science faculty. The appointed person will ensure that all chemistry experiments are properly prepared and that materials are maintained to support teaching and learning of the highest order.
Ideal candidates will:
have an appropriate scientific background
have laboratory experience
be very organised and have strong administration skills
be able to working independently using their initiative
be able to form good working relationships with other members of staff
be fully supportive of the School’s high expectations and culture of achievement
Previous school experience may be an advantage but is not essential.
Hours: 36 hours per week, term-time only.
