Matched funding, corporate donations and tax-efficient giving

Matched funding and corporate donations

Numerous employers operate schemes that match or even exceed the charitable donations made by their employees – sometimes by as much as 2:1. This means you can greatly increase the value of your giving to QE with no additional cost to you. A list of such companies is given below. However, this list may not be fully comprehensive: if you are not sure, it is always worth asking your HR department whether your organisation operates a matched giving scheme, and, if so, how it works.

We also know that some parents own or run businesses that are able to offer corporate donations.

Tax-efficient giving

The Donor Debit scheme that most of our parents use to donate makes it easy to sign up for Gift Aid, which gives QE an additional 25p for every £1 you donate – with further income tax relief available from taxpayers on the higher (40%) or additional (45%) rates. There are several other schemes that enable UK taxpayers to maximise charitable donations while minimising their tax liabilities. These include giving stocks & shares, and legacies.

Our Development Office is always happy to discuss matched giving, corporate donations, or other tax-efficient forms of giving. Please get in touch.
